Written with the stamp “Confidential and Very Urgent”, a -line document from the Brazilian embassy in London informed the Brazilian government of the legal failure of the attempted extradition, requested by Brazil from England, of Russian businessman Boris Abramovich Berezovsky and the Iranians Kia Joorabchian and Nojan Bedroud. The three businessmen are accused in Brazil of using a partnership and sponsorship contract with Corinthians to launder money from criminal activities. Through the sports promotion company MSI, they would have invested US$ million in the Brazilian club, money that was used to hire Argentine star Carlos Tevez and assemble the team that won the Brazilian Football Championship.
The document was signed by Anna Tamba, from the Brazilian embassy in London, and was sent to Humberto Alves de Mendonça, deputy head of the Compulsory Measures Division of the Ministry of Justice. The Phone Number List Division, in turn, forwarded the data, on March , in a -line document, to Márcio Rached Millani, substitute federal judge of the th Federal Criminal Court of São Paulo. A copy of the note from the Home Office, the British Foreign Ministry, was also sent along, informing the court's denial of Brazil's extradition request. The Brazilian embassy provides clarification on the opinion signed by Tina Whybrow, prosecutor of the Extradition Team of the Special Crimes Division of the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) of the British government.

In the document, Anna Tamba explains that the “CPS represents requesting States in extradition proceedings and can provide advice to those deemed appropriate during the course of these proceedings”. This is what Tina Whybrow does, in her opinion, where she points out the defects in the extradition request presented by the Ministry of Justice. As the embassy document says, the English expert “lists aspects that in her opinion require repair, including the lack of evidence, the lack of information about certain Brazilian laws mentioned in the case files and translation problems”. Among the flaws highlighted by the English prosecutor there are also legal issues.
